Transport of Dangerous Goods
Scope
Delivery of the course established under Ordinance of the Argentine Coast Guard (Prefectura Naval Argentina, DPAM) No. 05/11, “Mandatory Training Standards for Shore-Based Personnel Involved in Maritime, River, and Lake Transport of Dangerous Goods,” corresponding to Levels 1 and 2 of Functions 1, 2, and 3. The course prepares participants to undertake the evaluation conducted by the competent authority (PNA), in accordance with the latest amendment effective on an optional basis as of January 1, 2025 (Amendment 42/24 of the IMDG Code).
Objectives
To ensure participants acquire the necessary knowledge regarding the transport of dangerous goods across different modes, as well as the provisions established by national and international legislation governing this specific field, and risk communication as specified in the IMDG Code and the GHS/SGA. The aim is to enable participants to successfully undertake the examinations established by the Competent Authority (PNA).
Target Audience
Employees of shipping agencies, shipowners, port terminals, customs brokers, exporters, importers, and, in general, anyone involved in international waterborne transport operations who participates in the interpretation and preparation of documentation for dangerous goods transport, as well as those interested in operational aspects related to chemical safety.
Methodology
Remote instruction delivered through virtual platforms, combining theoretical and practical concepts with the instructor’s professional experience, and encouraging active student participation.
