Laytime – Delays in a Voyage Charter
Scope
Theoretical and practical development of concepts related, in particular, to the clauses that define the specific characteristics of Voyage Charter contracts with respect to the calculation of delays and their settlement.
Objectives
To interpret the various clauses of a Voyage Charter contract in order to apply them to the calculation of vessel delays and determine compensation costs between shipowner and charterer.
Target Audience
Operations staff of shipping agencies and grain or bulk cargo companies that operate vessels under Time Charter and Voyage Charter agreements.
